Infinity Blade has been updated on the iPhone
Infinity Blade was the first game that made many people realise the gaming potential of the iPhone, the developers Chair Entertainment & Epic Games have ported across the Unreal Engine 3 to the iPhone and the results are very impressive, sporting the level of Graphics you would usually associated with a PC or Games Console, with smooth 3D environments, lighting and massive monsters
As previously mentioned iPhone games need to have a dedicated control system to make them phone, simply using virtual buttons doesn’t work very well, and Chair Entertainment have done a great job of designing a control system that uses the iPhone’s Touch Screen to it’s full advantages.
The games controls are simple and effective, during combat you can doge attacks by tapping on either screen edge, block by pressing an on screen shield button, or control the sword directly to attack enemies and parry shots by swiping the screen in the directing you want to move the sword. Special attacks and magic spells are activated through on screen icons.
The purpose of the game is to journey through a castle, slaying enemies and picking up gold and experience points until you find and default the main enemy the God King, each time you fail in your quest you return to the game as your son, who has inherited your equipment and experience. The simple game play works well on the iPhone where you generally only play games in short sessions.
Originally the game included 2 Routes for you to take, but a free update has just been released into the App Store, which along with new weapons and monsters includes a third route through the castles dungeon.
When originally released Infinity Blade became the fastest grossing app on the iOS selling 271,424 copies in four days, and now, with the free update and reduced price, is a great time to add it onto your Apps list
